Born in Dover, Kent, Karen Stupples got her start in golf as a caddie for her father at Prince’s Golf Club in Sandwich. She began her collegiate career at Arkansas State and finished at Florida State, where she was named a second-team All-American in 1995. She joined the LPGA Tour in 1999 after initially returning to Kent and in 2004 she had a breakthrough win at the Welch’s/Fry’s Championship. Her biggest moment came later that year when she won the Women’s British Open by 5 shots.

 

She has been a consistent performer on the LPGA Tour and in 2005 she played in the Solheim Cup. Karen has one son, Logan James, and she lives in Orlando.
